The color fastness is good because it first dyes the yarn, and the color will penetrate into the yarn. However, it is difficult to customize dyed printed fabrics without fabric, and the dyeing printing process also limits small-scale production.

High end yarn dyed fabrics have a global production capacity of approximately 800 million meters per year, mainly concentrated in China, which accounts for 35-40% of the global market share. Top end yarn dyed fabrics have a global production capacity of no more than 50 million square meters per year, mainly concentrated in a few manufacturers such as France, Germany, and Japan. For fashion and top brand shirts, as well as mid to low end yarn dyed fabrics, China has a production capacity of approximately 3 billion meters per year, with 90% of domestic yarn dyed fabrics being mid to low end products.

Compared to printed and dyed fabrics, dyed fabrics have the characteristics of rich colors, strong three-dimensional sense, and high color fastness. However, due to the large losses in processes such as dyeing, weaving, and post finishing, and the lower production capacity of Taiwan compared to white fabrics, the investment cost and technical requirements are high. Colored fabrics account for only 7% of the global cotton textile industry, with the highest proportion of printed and dyed fabrics compared to denim. In the future, with consumers' increasingly fashionable and diverse demands for clothing colors, the development prospects of colored fabrics are still very promising.
